This icon of Saint Francis, the Patron Saint of Animals and the Environment, was made from cut and carved layered wood pieces. It's designed, cut and hand painted by artist Kelly Magee. Inside of the surround is an Italian prayer card of St. Francis pictured with two dogs which is highly unusual. Many Catholic churches hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day of October 4th.
The finished piece is approx. 5" X 10".
